When employers need to cut back on benefits expenses, discount medical cards and networks are the next best option to give employees access to healthcare services. With these cards, employees can purchase access to popular national health care networks and receive the same discounts typically available only through a group insurance plan. Discount networks are a great option for small-business owners who want to provide their employees with much valued benefits when these employees are considered 'uninsurable' by the insurance industry. This includes employers with high turnover rates, too many part-time or 1099 employees, or those who may not meet an insurer's definition of a group. Discount cards typically have no restrictions on who can enroll, no waiting periods, no annual limitations, and no claim forms. We will provide you with your needed networks or build your complete card.

There has been a significant rise in out-of-pocket health care costs for consumers and employees. There has been a major move toward so-called consumer directed health insurance plans in which consumers rather than employers shoulder more of their health care costs. Large employers are switching to high deductible major medical plans supported by discount networks. In this "hybrid" model, high deductible major medical insurance policies for employees, often linked to HSAs and HRAs, are combined with access to healthcare networks to give the employee / member [and their families] discounted medical services for their out-of-pocket expenses. Lower paid and part-time employees often cannot participate in employer sponsored health plans. Our networks allow these employees to access discounts, usually only available in fully insured programs, at a small fraction of insurance costs. The employer may also add a low priced dental and/or vision plan to a program or replace an existing fully insured dental plan with a discount network. We are confident that if given the opportunity to quote one or more of our programs, you will find the savings to be compelling. Thank you for your interest.

Integrated healthcare management is the systematic application of processes; this is a major trend in the healthcare industry moving forward, to reduce costs and maximize the consumer's bang for the buck in healthcare. The United States is moving rapidly to standardize the transmission and storage of patient medical records in an electronic format. The Continuity of Care Record [CCR] is a proposed standard for the exchange of basic patient data between providers. Most providers [ hospitals, doctors, etc. ] have medical information systems that are classified as an EMR, electronic medical record. We have access to a best in class on line off site practice specific EMR platform for your medical practice. Online personal health records, PHRs, offer an integrated, highly secure and reliable means for individuals to maintain their personal health and medical information. We have access to highly secured state of the art online personal health records reposit and retrieval programs that are now being offered in the market place. Any medical practice that is maintaining medical records electronically will be able to easily reposit them in an individual's PHR file. These solutions enable secure web access to information, and facilitate effective transmission between patients and providers using CCR standards.

The data in a PHR is added to and the access to it is controlled by the individual only. Most medical providers [ hospitals, doctors, etc. ] have medical information systems that can interface electronically with a PHR. The trend nationally in medical practices is to use programs that create and interface with EMRs. Thus, any medical practice that is keeping medical records electronically will be positioned to easily reposit them in an individual's PHR file or transmit them in HIPAA compliance to another practice. Hence, the transcription or scanning of paper records will not be a common scenario.

Eliminating the replication of testing is one goal in this model . A PHR would be positioned to interface with an EMR, from primary and specialized medical and dental providers, lab, diagnostic and pharmacy [eRx ] , corporate and public wellness programs, and My SmileGuide. iMedicor gives the networks and providers the ability to transmit their EMRs in technical HIPAA compliance , between practices, hospitals, and an individual's [or a wellness program employee's] PHR or healthcare portal file. See www.imedicor.com for the key features of their program, which we are positioned to bring to your network practitioners.

We are often asked to clarify the specifics of adding a paper patient file to a PHR electronic file. Most medical practices have had extensive existing files of patient records for years. Keep in mind that a physician can create a "notes to file" summary of a few pages in length to consolidate the larger files. If a provider has extensive paper records and seeks to upload them into their EMR platform, they can contact a medical transcription company that specializes in converting paper records into electronic data, or they can convert all the paper documents into scanned image [ PDF ] files. These can be added to patient PHR records as requested or into an EMR system. If a provider uses a transcription or scanning service, the cost will typically be based upon volume. In most cases, it is easier to simply pick a cut-off / starting point date to switch from paper files and commence with using the EMR platform moving forward.
